Escape from Berlin

In 1972 I had to execute one of the biggest escapes that occurred in East Berlin, for which we fake a production of the reconstruction of a escape that produced two deaths.  Across the river, at its narrowest point, was a heavily armed guardhouse.   While the East Berlin guards were enjoying the production, 100 meters away we were passing the group of Berliners who were to escape to West Berlin. At the end of the operation, the process was discovered, causing four deaths, including that of Helga, my sentimental partner at the time.
