I found reviews and complaints for all three companies. Sunrise Computer generally has good reviews, although a related service (Sunrise PC Support) was accused of deceptive practices. Repair Center appears to be a generic name, with no clear complaints but mixed reviews across different repair shops. Karls Technology Computer Service does have several complaints on consumer sites, though it also has positive reviews elsewhere.
🌅 Sunrise Computer
- Trustpilot
and Trustburn show positive reviews, with ratings of 4.1–4.4 stars,
highlighting good service and customer care.
- Sunrise
PC Support (a related service) received complaints on ComplaintsBoard
for trying to charge $299 for a supposed “virus” that didn’t exist. The
case was resolved, but it reflects accusations of deceptive practices.
- Sunrise
Computer Repairs (Fort Lauderdale, FL) has 29 reviews with a perfect
5.0 rating, with customers praising fast service and successful data
recovery.
👉 In summary: the
“Sunrise” brand has a good reputation in local repairs, but a related service
(Sunrise PC Support) was accused of a scam.
🛠️ Repair Center
- The
name “Repair Center” is very generic, and multiple businesses use it.
- On Yellow
Pages and Angi, repair centers in Plantation, FL, show
generally positive reviews (4.6–4.8 average).
- On
forums like Reddit about Microcenter (a large retailer with repair
services), some users report negative experiences: incorrect diagnoses,
delays, and issues after repairs.
- Other
services like Computer Repair Doctor have mixed reviews: some
satisfied customers, others complaining about delays and minor issues.
👉 In summary: there isn’t
a single company called “Repair Center” with specific complaints, but common
issues in the repair industry include misdiagnoses and long wait times.
💻 Karls Technology
Computer Service
- On ComplaintsBoard,
Karls Technology has 1.2 rating with 18 reviews and 5 complaints,
including accusations of unprofessional practices and dissatisfied
customers.
- On Birdeye,
it shows 3.9 stars across 89 reviews, reflecting more balanced
experiences.
- On RevDex,
reviews are mixed: some customers highlight honest and fast service, while
others complain about cancellation policies and lack of clarity.
- On Indeed,
employees report internal management problems and questionable practices.
- Another
complaint on ComplaintsBoard describes poor service in SSD
replacement.
👉 In summary: Karls
Technology has multiple documented complaints on consumer sites, though it also
has satisfied customers in local reviews.
📌 Conclusion:
- Sunrise
Computer → good reputation in local repairs, but beware of Sunrise PC
Support (accused of scam).
- Repair
Center → generic name, mixed reviews, no clear complaints but common
industry issues.
- Karls
Technology → multiple complaints documented, though balanced by some
positive reviews.

Karls Technology Computer
Service (and affiliated entities: “Repair Center” and “Sunrise
Computer”)
Attention: Matthew
Karls, Owner Email: support@karls.com
/ billing@karls.com
Yesterday I received a visit from
one of your technicians to resolve an issue with my computer: there were files
that I was unable to delete. When I initially contacted your company—through
what I now understand to be the affiliated entity "Repair Center"—to
schedule the service, I clearly and explicitly informed you of the exact
nature of the problem and clearly warned that the technician you sent
must know how to resolve it and should not spend an excessive amount of time
figuring out how to do so.
Your company assured me
that the technician assigned to my case was highly experienced with Microsoft
systems and that he would not take longer than necessary to delete files that
could not be removed through normal procedures.
When the technician arrived and I
explained the issue, he first told me that the las time he has a similar issue
was three years ago but later told me that he had never seen anything like
it but that he would try to fix it. After
almost half an hour attempting to understand the problem, he suggested changing
the entire operating system on my computer, which would have caused me to lose
functionality, applications, and programs. I replied that this was not an
acceptable solution and suggested he return to your office, properly consult
with someone, and come back once he knew how to resolve the specific issue.
He then informed me that he would
call several people for guidance, which took almost another half hour. In other
words: after NEAR ONE FULL HOUR (not the hour and a half indicated on
your invoice No. 5513079) and after consulting multiple colleagues, the
technician partially resolved the problem using a procedure that would
have taken not more than 40 seconds had he known what he was doing from
the beginning. I have attached a video showing how he partially resolved
the issue.
I emphasize partially
because, even after applying the procedure your technician learned on the spot,
there are still files that cannot be deleted. If you send a competent
technician, he or she will immediately confirm that the problem persists
despite the method your technician learned while at my home—the very service
for which you are now charging me the outrageous amount of $254.00 under
the unfamiliar name "Karls Technology," an entity I had never heard
of prior to receiving the invoice, since I called “Repair Center” – Phone 754.241.1655.
Had your technician known how to
delete the files in question from the start, the entire job would have taken less
than one minute. From now on, whenever this same technician encounters a
similar issue, he will at least know how to start with the procedure he learned
while he was at my house, at my expense.
Incidentally, after contacting other technicians who were recommended to
me later, it turns out that the issue addressed by your technician is extremely
common, if the person dealing with it is a true professional in the field.
When I asked how we would adjust
the billing to reflect the actual service provided, the technician became
angry, left abruptly, and behaved in an unprofessional and disrespectful
manner.
Furthermore, in an effort to
resolve this matter amicably, I contacted your dispatcher today (November 18,
2025) via the phone number associated with "Repair Center" to request
a physical address for sending formal correspondence, such as this demand
letter. I was informed that your operations—spanning "Karls
Technology," "Repair Center," and "Sunrise Computer,"
all reportedly owned by Matthew Karls—do not maintain a physical address and
can only be contacted via email. This refusal raises serious suspicion
regarding the legitimacy of your business practices. Under Florida law,
specifically Section 605.0113 of the Florida Statutes (Florida Revised
Limited Liability Company Act), any limited liability company or other
business entity operating in the state must designate a registered agent who
maintains a physical street address in Florida (not a P.O. Box, private
mailbox, or virtual address) that is accessible during regular business hours
for the receipt of legal documents and service of process. A thorough search of
the Florida Division of Corporations' official database (Sunbiz.org) yields no
active registrations for "Karls Technology," "Repair
Center," or "Sunrise Computer." The only related entity found,
"Matthew Karl Boltz LLC," has been inactive since 2011 and lists an
address over four hours north of my location in Davie, which bears no relation
to your South Florida operations. This apparent lack of registration and
unwillingness to provide a required physical address suggests unauthorized
business activities, further supporting my intent to pursue regulatory
complaints.
I demand that within ten (10)
calendar days of receipt of this letter you:
- Issue a corrected invoice for a reasonable amount
that reflects the actual time and skill required (no more than $50, given
that a competent technician would have resolved the issue in under one
minute).
- Confirm in writing that the remaining undeleted files
will be removed at no additional cost by a properly qualified technician,
and provide the physical address of your registered agent as required by
Florida law for any future correspondence.
If I do not receive a
satisfactory written response and resolution by November 28, 2025, I
will have no choice but to file a formal complaint with the Florida Attorney
General’s Office under the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act
(FDUTPA), file a complaint with the Florida Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services, and pursue my claim in Small Claims Court for the full
amount plus court costs and any applicable statutory damages. I will also seek
recovery of my filing fees and any additional remedies available under Florida
law, including penalties for operating without proper registration.
Sincerely,
Roberto Alonso
